Job Overview:
The Public intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Information Intern position is situated within the Social Media Section of the Communications Campaigns Service, part of the Campaigns and Country Operations Division of the Department of Global Communications. This role is crucial for supporting the UN's social media initiatives, which are integral to its communication strategy. The intern will engage in various activities, including researching and drafting social media content in French, monitoring social media statistics, and assisting in the creation of original content for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The internship is designed to provide practical experience in public information and communications within a global context, particularly focusing on the French-speaking audience. The intern will also have the opportunity to attend meetings and contribute to special projects, enhancing their understanding of the UN's operations and communications.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a range of duties, including: researching, compiling, drafting, and editing information for social media content in French; monitoring and analyzing social media statistics; gathering content from special events such as film screenings and concerts; assisting in the creation of original content for various social media platforms; attending meetings as an observer; and supporting special projects as assigned. The role requires the intern to work under tight deadlines and to be proactive in contributing to the team's objectives.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level). While professional work experience is not required, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in French and familiarity with digital photography and graphic design software such as Canva, Trello, PowerPoint, and Adobe Photoshop is desirable. Additionally, applicants should provide proof of their qualifications and relevant experiences in their application.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or enrolled in or have completed a Master's or Ph.D. program. The educational background should be relevant to the internship, and applicants are required to list their area of study in their application. Proof of enrollment or completion of the relevant degree must be provided at a later stage.

Experience:
While no professional work experience is required for this internship, applicants should have relevant academic experience or coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the internship. Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this internship, as the primary responsibilities involve creating and managing content in French. The internship is hybrid, expected to last up to 6 months, and is not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Interns are responsible for their own hardware, software, and internet connection.
