Job Overview: The National Consultant for strengthening the organization’s security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">information security framework is a critical role aimed at enhancing the security measures and protocols within the organization. This position involves assessing the current information security landscape, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing strategies to mitigate risks. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the information security framework aligns with international standards and best practices. The assignment is expected to last for 60 working days over a period of 6 months, during which the consultant will be responsible for delivering comprehensive reports, recommendations, and action plans to strengthen the organization's information security posture. The consultant will also be expected to provide training and support to staff on information security awareness and practices.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the National Consultant include but are not limited to:
Conducting a thorough assessment of the current information security framework and identifying gaps and vulnerabilities.
Developing a comprehensive information security strategy that aligns with organizational goals and international best practices.
Collaborating with IT and other relevant departments to implement security measures and protocols.
Providing training and awareness programs for staff on information security best practices.
Preparing detailed reports and documentation on the findings and recommendations for the organization.
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented security measures and making necessary adjustments.
Advising on compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding information security.
Engaging with external stakeholders and partners to enhance the organization’s information security capabilities.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications:
Strong understanding of information security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, etc.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in information security.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA) would be an advantage and demonstrate a higher level of expertise in the field.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in information security, risk management, or a related area. Experience working with international organizations or in a consulting capacity is highly desirable. The candidate should have a proven track record of successfully implementing information security initiatives and frameworks.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Bengali or other local languages would be considered an asset and beneficial for effective communication within the organization and with local stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is a contract-based role for a duration of 60 working days over 6 months. It is essential for candidates to submit their proposals directly through the UNDP supplier portal by the specified deadline. The role is classified as an individual contractor position, and the consultant will be expected to work independently while adhering to the guidelines and requirements set forth by UNDP.
