Job Overview: The Supply and logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer plays a crucial role in managing the supply chains of a small-sized country office or elements of larger supply operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the officer is responsible for providing technical and operational support, which includes planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, warehousing, in-country transport, and distribution. The officer collaborates with program management to define supply interventions that meet programmatic needs and achieve results for children. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure efficient supply chain operations and effective emergency response strategies, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with various stakeholders.
Delivery of supply chain services and emergency response, including planning and monitoring supply chain operations, drafting procurement strategies, and ensuring timely customs clearance.
Collaboration with program and implementing partners to develop supply components for proposals and monitor supply components under Harmonized Approach to Cash Transfers (HACT).
Providing technical and advisory support to government and national systems to strengthen supply chains for children.
Contributing to innovation in supply chain management and supporting local market development initiatives.
Required Qualifications: A university degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law, International Development, or a related field is required. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of development and humanitarian work, public procurement principles, and risk management in supply operations. Proven experience in complex contracting and supervising staff is essential, along with the ability to work independently in a multicultural environment.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a university degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Contract/Commercial Law, or International Development. This educational background is critical for understanding the complexities of supply chain management and procurement processes.
Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant professional work experience in supply chain processes or procurement is required. Candidates should have proven experience in dealing with complex contracting of goods and services, and experience with construction and engineering projects is considered an advantage. Experience in supervising and training staff, as well as working in developing and emergency contexts, is also beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English and Russian is required for this position. Knowledge of the Kyrgyz local language is considered an asset, as it can facilitate better communication and collaboration with local stakeholders and partners.
