Job Overview:
The position of Analyst at WJCF, which is affiliated with CHAI, involves providing technical support to the National Centre for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC) in India. The Analyst will play a crucial role in strengthening program management, particularly in monitoring and evaluation (M&E), to facilitate data-driven decision-making. This includes enhancing data recording and reporting mechanisms, supporting governance and capacity-building initiatives, and delivering critical program insights by leveraging various data sources. The Analyst will be responsible for data collation, analysis, and visualization, as well as identifying innovative approaches and technologies to support malaria elimination goals. The role requires collaboration with the Malaria Department and involves reporting to both the Head of Department and the Associate at WJCF.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including: consolidating, cleaning, and conducting multi-dimensional analyses on programmatic data to provide insights for informed decision-making at NCVBDC; assessing the existing surveillance framework to identify gaps and suggest improvements; developing and managing a surveillance data quality assurance framework; creating dashboards and decision support tools based on key performance indicators at various administrative levels; preparing technical briefs and fact sheets to communicate findings; documenting program progress through reports and presentations; conducting field visits to identify challenges; and collaborating with the Malaria team to align priorities and manage stakeholder relationships. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, economics, sociology, or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience. Alternatively, a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Professional experience in a demanding private sector environment, such as strategy consulting or public sector advisory, is preferred. Candidates should have experience in monitoring and evaluation, data analytics, and dashboard development for multilateral funded projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required, as well as the ability to work independently and adapt to new challenges.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as public health, epidemiology, economics, or sociology. A Master’s degree in these areas is also acceptable, provided the candidate has the requisite professional experience. The emphasis is on candidates who have a strong academic background that supports the analytical and technical demands of the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in relevant fields. Candidates with experience in demanding environments, such as strategy consulting or public sector advisory roles, will be preferred. Experience with monitoring and evaluation, data analytics, and dashboard development for projects funded by multilateral organizations is highly desirable. The role also requires a willingness to travel frequently, approximately 30-50% of the time, to various regions and potentially to international meetings.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and reporting. While English is the primary language required, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the regions in which the Analyst will be working.

Additional Notes:
The position is full-time and involves a significant amount of travel, estimated at 30-50% of the time. The Analyst will be working within a technical support unit embedded in the NCVBDC, contributing to the ambitious goal of malaria elimination in India.
