Job Overview:
The Protection from Violence (PfV) Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of PfV activities in the North-East Area of Ukraine. This role involves strategic thinking regarding program development at the area level, managing a team and local partners, and ensuring high-quality project cycle management. The Project Manager will work closely with the Area Programme Manager and receive technical guidance from the PfV Specialist. The position requires a proactive approach to managing the PfV team and local partners, ensuring that all activities align with NRC's policies and donor requirements. The role also emphasizes the importance of integrated programming approaches and coordination with key stakeholders to effectively address the needs of the target beneficiaries, particularly those most in need of protection.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the PfV Project Manager include contributing to the development of country, area, and core competency strategies, initiating and participating in the development of relevant PfV projects, and coordinating the implementation of PfV projects in accordance with proposals and NRC guidelines. The Project Manager will ensure that projects target beneficiaries in need of protection, explore new ways to assist, and promote the rights of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees. Additional responsibilities include developing and managing project budgets, providing regular progress reports to the Area Manager and PfV Specialist, training and mentoring project staff, and maintaining protection analysis to inform programming and strategy. The Project Manager will also represent NRC in relevant protection sub-clusters and liaise with local authorities and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in project management within humanitarian or recovery contexts, particularly in complex and volatile environments. Knowledge and experience in Protection Case Management, Individual Protection Assistance, and community-based protection initiatives are essential. Familiarity with Protection Analysis and Monitoring is considered an asset, as is experience managing projects focused on durable solutions. Applicants must also demonstrate fluency in English and Ukrainian, with knowledge of Russian being advantageous. A valid driver's license is required for this position.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes relevant academic qualifications that align with the responsibilities of project management in humanitarian contexts. Specific degrees or certifications in fields related to humanitarian assistance, social work, or project management may be preferred, although the job ad does not specify exact educational requirements.
