Job Overview: The Protection Officer position is crucial for delivering Individual Protection Assistance (IPA) to vulnerable individuals affected by conflict in Ukraine. Duties and Responsibilities: The Protection Officer will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Delivering Individual Protection Assistance, including in-kind support and cash assistance, to individuals at risk.
Conducting safe referrals to internal and external service providers, ensuring that referral pathways are up to date.
Performing trauma-informed needs and risk assessments for individuals.
Providing psychological first aid to those in need.
Collecting and analyzing protection information regularly and disseminating it internally.
Ensuring data protection and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Supporting field data collection for protection assessments and needs analyses.
Promoting a protective environment in collective sites through training and mainstreaming activities.
Applying an Age, Gender, and Diversity (AGD) approach in all protection activities. 1
Building effective relationships with stakeholders, including community leaders and service providers. 1
Representing the organization at external meetings as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of professional experience, preferably in the humanitarian sector, with documented results related to the responsibilities of the position. They should have experience working with vulnerable populations and possess good reporting skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. A working knowledge of English, both written and verbal, is preferable.
