Job Overview: The HR Coordinator will play a crucial role in coordinating and supporting the implementation of the Country Program HR strategy and operational plans. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient and high-quality HR and operational services. Key functions include managing employee administration, recruitment, staff development, performance management, onboarding, and travel coordination. The HR Coordinator will ensure compliance with agency policies, donor requirements, and local legal regulations while supporting managers and staff to effectively achieve program goals. The role requires a proactive approach to HR processes and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities: The HR Coordinator will support the Head of HR in managing HR programs and services. This includes coordinating HR processes to meet legal and best practice standards, providing advice and support to managers for effective staff management. The coordinator will help assess service needs and provide quality process services and advice to support managers in their daily staff management responsibilities. Responsibilities also include collecting and organizing input on HR processes and policies, participating in the review and update of various systems, manuals, guidelines, and tools, and supporting professional development needs assessments. The HR Coordinator will maintain record-keeping through personnel files and/or Oracle HCM, ensuring adherence to required CRS, donor, and local law regulations. Additionally, the role involves providing support on analytical reports related to HR data, metrics, and trends to aid in decision-making and workforce planning, as well as facilitating travel logistics and supporting procurement, bookings, and inventory management to enable smooth program operations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution. A certified HR professional with active membership in a recognized HR body (minimum: IHRM membership) is required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of work experience in HR, preferably with an international or local NGO, and a solid understanding of HR best practices and standards. Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, policies, principles, concepts, and practices is essential, along with proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), web conferencing applications, and HRIS.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Additionally, candidates should hold a certification as an HR professional and maintain active membership in a recognized HR body, such as IHRM.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in human resources, ideally within an international or local NGO setting. Candidates should have a strong understanding of HR best practices and standards, as well as experience with employment laws and regulations.
Languages: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory, with the ability to write reports. Proficiency in Arabic is strongly preferred, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment.
Additional Notes: This position does not anticipate any travel requirements. There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.
