Job Overview:
The internship program at the IAEA is designed to provide students and recent graduates with practical work experience that aligns with their academic studies or interests. Interns will have the opportunity to engage with the IAEA's operations and gain insights into the workings of the United Nations. The program aims to benefit the IAEA's various programs by leveraging the skills and knowledge of qualified students specializing in fields such as Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, and International Relations. Interns may be assigned to different areas within the Division of Human Resources (MTHR), including HR Management, HR Services, and HR Development, and may rotate between these areas based on the organization's needs. This exposure will not only enhance their understanding of HR functions but also contribute to their professional development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be expected to conduct background research on HR matters, which may involve reviewing academic research papers, analyzing best practices from the private and public sectors, and studying policies and guidelines from other international organizations. They will support the development of promotional and outreach materials and coordinate activities and events aimed at enhancing awareness of various HR areas. Additionally, interns will respond to requests for guidance on HR topics, contribute to the design and facilitation of training sessions, and assist with the administration and collection of training data. They will also prepare and edit drafts of HR reports, guidelines, briefing notes, and presentations, as well as analyze and report on HR data and Key Performance Indicators as required. Other HR activities may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be at least 20 years old and have completed a minimum of three years of full-time university studies towards a first degree. They should have a university degree in progress or recently completed in fields such as Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related discipline. Experience in drafting documents and reports in English is essential, and prior experience in an international work environment or in Human Resources-related roles is highly desirable. Proficiency in using Windows and MS Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Teams, is also required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree. They may apply up to one year after completing their bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree. Candidates who have previously participated in the IAEA's internship program are not eligible to apply.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have experience in drafting documents and reports in English. While prior experience in an international work environment or in Human Resources-related work is highly desirable, it is not mandatory. The focus is on candidates who are currently studying or have recently completed their studies, thus emphasizing the internship's educational aspect rather than extensive professional experience.

Languages:
Good written and spoken English is essential for this position. Fluency in any other IAEA official language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, or Russian, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application.

Additional Notes:
The internship duration typically ranges from three months to one year. This position is part-time and is open to candidates who are studying or have recently graduated. Interns will be required to submit two signed letters of recommendation with their application. The IAEA is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment and encourages applications from qualified individuals regardless of their background.
