Job Overview:
The Senior Programme Associate (Health & Nutrition) plays a vital role in the Palestinian Programme in Lebanon (PPL), which operates in a complex environment characterized by multidimensional poverty and limited access to essential services for Palestinian refugees. This position is crucial for ensuring the effective implementation of health and nutrition interventions, supporting program planning, monitoring, partner coordination, and data analysis. The role directly contributes to UNICEF Lebanon's objectives of equity, resilience, and humanitarian action, ensuring that interventions are conflict-sensitive and responsive to the needs of Palestinian refugees. The Senior Programme Associate will work closely with various partners to deliver expanded nutrition services and health-facility assistance, ensuring that program activities align with UNICEF's Health & Nutrition strategies and the specific operational sensitivities of the Palestinian context in Lebanon.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Programme Associate (Health & Nutrition) is responsible for providing technical and operational support to the PPL, contributing to the design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of health and nutrition interventions. Key duties include: ensuring timely availability of accurate information and data analysis regarding health and nutrition in Palestinian camps; providing technical assistance to partners in implementing integrated Health & Nutrition approaches; effectively implementing PPL’s Health and Nutrition Work plan; enhancing project efficiency through follow-up on implementation; monitoring project progress for adjustments and improvements; ensuring transparency in supply and non-supply assistance; maintaining effective partnerships for advocacy and information sharing; keeping up-to-date program information and preparing reports; and maintaining emergency preparedness and effective responses in emergencies.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of seven years of professional work experience in planning, programming, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of health programs, particularly in Palestinian camps. Experience in program management or serving in a technical expert capacity in child survival and health care is required, along with field work experience focused on Palestinian camps and gatherings in Lebanon. Familiarity with emergency contexts is also essential.

Educational Background:
Completion of secondary education is required, with a bachelor’s degree in Public Health and Nutrition, Child Development, Social Development, Community Development, Nursing, or other relevant disciplines considered equivalent to three years of related professional experience. A master’s degree may be considered equivalent to an additional two years of related professional experience.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience, particularly in the planning, programming, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of health programs in Palestinian camps. Candidates should have experience in program management functions or serving in a technical expert capacity in child survival and health care, with a strong emphasis on field work experience in the Palestinian context.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory. Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for the position.
