Job Overview:
The Legal Assistant position at the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe is designed for individuals who will support the National Legal Officer in providing legal advice and opinions to senior officials within the office. The role involves collecting and organizing information related to both domestic and international laws, as well as monitoring changes in legal frameworks that affect the OSCE's operations. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Legal Assistant include:
  • Assisting the National Legal Officer in preparing legal opinions and advice for senior officials, including the Head of Office and Deputy Head of Office.
  • Collecting and organizing information on domestic and international laws, including public, private, and administrative law, as well as relevant legal precedents.
  • Researching OSCE internal rules and regulations and monitoring changes in domestic laws.
  • Preparing first drafts and proofreading various legal documents such as legal opinions, agreements, and contracts.
  • Conducting due diligence on partners and vendors to ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Contributing to the development of project proposals and budget outlines.
  • Organizing and maintaining legal documents in a secure and confidential manner.
  • Performing additional tasks as required by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education with specialized studies in law or political science. A minimum of five years of relevant work experience is required for those with a secondary school diploma, while candidates with a first-level university degree need at least four years of experience, and those with a second-level university degree require a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Microsoft applications is essential, along with excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, Tajik, and Russian. Candidates should demonstrate gender awareness and sensitivity, and the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

Educational Background:

  • The monthly remuneration is EUR 892.75, subject to social security deductions, and includes participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
