Job Overview: The position involves providing professional videography services for UNDP Uganda. The contractor will be responsible for capturing high-quality video content that aligns with UNDP's mission and objectives. The videographer will be expected to produce videos that effectively communicate UNDP's projects, initiatives, and impact in Uganda. The assignment is for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance, extending up to a maximum of three years. The contractor must be flexible and available to respond to videography needs as they arise throughout the contract period.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Collaborating with UNDP staff to understand the specific videography needs for various projects and initiatives.
Planning and executing video shoots, including location scouting, scheduling, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
Operating video equipment, including cameras, lighting, and sound equipment, to capture high-quality footage.
Editing video content to create polished final products that meet UNDP's standards and effectively convey the intended message.
Ensuring all video content is delivered on time and within budget.
Maintaining and managing video equipment and ensuring it is in good working condition.
Staying updated on the latest videography trends and techniques to enhance the quality of work produced.
Providing input and suggestions for improving the overall videography process within UNDP Uganda.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
Proven experience in professional videography, including a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar programs.
Strong understanding of videography techniques, including lighting, composition, and sound design.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with UNDP staff and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Familiarity with UNDP's mission and objectives is an advantage.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in film production, media studies, communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may also be considered in lieu of formal education. Additional certifications in videography or related disciplines will be an asset.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in videography, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality video content for various audiences. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications and video content will be in English. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Uganda is a plus and may enhance the ability to connect with local communities and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is classified as an individual contractor role, with a contract duration of 12 months, renewable annually based on performance. The contractor will be expected to work full-time and may need to travel within Uganda for various videography assignments. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and benefits may include access to UNDP resources and training opportunities.
