Job Overview:
The Operations Assistant position is situated within the Nepal Resident Mission (NRM) of the South Asia Department (SARD) at ADB. The role is crucial for the smooth functioning of the NRM, where the Operations Assistant will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks. These tasks include managing records, preparing correspondence and reports, and providing logistical support for ADB missions. The Operations Assistant will ensure that all correspondence and documents are accurately prepared and submitted in compliance with ADB standards. This position requires a proactive approach to managing office operations and supporting the team in achieving its objectives. The Operations Assistant will also play a key role in maintaining effective communication within the office and with external stakeholders, thereby contributing to the overall mission of ADB to foster prosperity in Asia.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Operations Assistant will undertake a comprehensive range of duties, including but not limited to: ensuring timely and accurate typing, printing, and submission of correspondence and documents; logging and distributing incoming faxes and mail; providing reception services, including screening calls and taking messages; maintaining and updating the office filing system for easy retrieval of documents; assisting in the preparation of reports by retrieving necessary files; photocopying and printing tasks; providing logistical assistance for ADB missions; and supporting the organization of workshops, seminars, and conferences. The role may also involve other responsibilities as reflected in the workplan, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively to support the mission's objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Operations Assistant position must possess a Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required, with a preference for candidates who have experience in international agencies. A strong understanding of the operational processes within international organizations is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within teams and establish productive relationships with officials from host governments, donor agencies, and executing agencies. Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and national backgrounds is also important, as is proficiency in both written and verbal communication in English and the local language.

Educational Background:

After the initial term, ADB may choose to renew the appointment for an additional 3 years based on various factors, including the staff member's performance and the organization's needs. It is important to note that this appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment, and the salary will be competitive, based on ADB's standards and the candidate's qualifications and experience.
