Job Overview: The Partnerships, Reports and Communication Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Malawi Country Office's strategic engagement with various stakeholders, including traditional and non-traditional donors, UN agencies, private partners, and other relevant entities. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into resource mobilization, donor relations, and advocacy within the humanitarian and development sectors. The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Partnerships, Reports and Communication, contributing to the overall mission of WFP to save and change lives through effective partnerships and communication strategies. The role involves assisting in the preparation of donor-facing materials, organizing events, and developing advocacy products that align with WFP's Country Strategic Plan. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at supporting the Partnerships and Advocacy team. Key responsibilities include:
Assisting in the preparation of presentations, briefing notes, and other materials that enhance WFP's engagement with donors and partners.
Organizing donor visits, missions, and events, including managing logistical arrangements and preparing necessary supporting documents.
Contributing to the development of advocacy and communication products, such as fact sheets, briefs, and social media content that promote WFP's activities and initiatives.
Conducting basic research on potential partners and funding opportunities, compiling relevant data to inform donor engagement and reporting efforts.
Drafting donor-facing products, including concept notes and updates, ensuring clarity and structure in the information presented.
Assisting in editing and formatting reports for both internal and external use, ensuring accuracy and clarity in communication.
Supporting the Partnerships, Communications, and Reports team with internal communications and the development of training materials for staff.
Required Qualifications: To be eligible for this internship, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a recognized university, having completed at least two years of study, or a recent graduate (within six months prior to applying) from a recognized university.
Candidates must have attended classes within the past 12 months.
Applicants must not be related to any current WFP employee (i.e., not the son, daughter, brother, or sister of a WFP employee).
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a background in fields relevant to the internship, such as international relations, communications, development studies, or other related disciplines. A strong academic record and relevant coursework will be beneficial for applicants seeking to enhance their understanding of humanitarian efforts and partnerships.
Experience: While prior experience is not mandatory, any relevant internships, volunteer work, or academic projects related to partnerships, communication, or humanitarian work will be considered an asset.
