Job Overview:
The position involves supporting UNICEF’s Communications, Advocacy & Partnerships team in Oman by designing advocacy materials aimed at diverse audiences, including partners and the general public. The role is crucial for the upcoming Country Programme 2026 – 2030, as the designed materials will be disseminated widely to enhance advocacy and awareness. The volunteer will work closely with the Partnerships Officer and Communications Specialist to create visually appealing documents that effectively communicate the main components and goals of the country programme. This role requires creativity and an understanding of how to present complex information in an accessible format, ensuring that the materials resonate with the intended audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties include creating a consistent design format for advocacy documents, which will involve the following specific tasks:
  • Designing four different advocacy briefs, each consisting of one double-sided A4 page, ensuring that the design is appealing and aligns with UNICEF’s branding guidelines.
  • Producing each document in both English and Arabic, resulting in a total of eight documents.
  • Collaborating with the Partnerships Officer and Communications Specialist to understand the key messages and components that need to be highlighted in the documents.
  • Ensuring that the final designs are clear, engaging, and effectively communicate the objectives of the Country Programme.
  • Submitting two examples of previous work as part of the application process to demonstrate design capabilities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong graphic design skills, with proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop). A good understanding of branding and visual communication principles is essential. Additionally, candidates should have the ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards in their work. Experience in designing advocacy materials or similar documents is highly desirable, as is familiarity with UNICEF’s mission and values.

Educational Background:
A background in graphic design, communications, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have formal education or training in design principles and practices, which will enable them to create effective and visually appealing advocacy materials. A portfolio showcasing previous design work is essential for consideration.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in graphic design, particularly in creating materials for advocacy or communications purposes. Languages:
