Job Overview: The consultancy role focuses on assessing and optimizing the Master Data Management (MDM) processes at UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC). The consultant will be responsible for process mapping, conducting benchmark and gap analysis, and developing authentication mechanisms. The goal is to enhance the efficiency of MDM processes by identifying gaps and inefficiencies, designing a future-focused process framework, and delivering actionable recommendations validated through stakeholder engagement. The consultant will also provide an implementation roadmap aimed at reducing risks and enabling digital transformation within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of the current MDM processes and identify areas for improvement.
Develop as-is and to-be process maps to visualize the current state and desired future state of MDM processes.
Perform structured gap analyses to benchmark against UNICEF standards and industry best practices.
Engage with stakeholders to validate findings and recommendations.
Design and strengthen authentication mechanisms to ensure data integrity and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security.
Create an implementation roadmap that outlines timelines, dependencies, and resource needs for the proposed changes.
Produce actionable recommendations that enhance efficiency and reduce risks associated with MDM processes.
Collaborate with various teams within UNICEF to ensure alignment and support for the proposed changes.
Document all findings, processes, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner for future reference.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in Master Data Management (MDM) process mapping, assessment, and optimization.
Strong background in data governance, including knowledge of data quality rules, stewardship models, and internal control assessments.
Ability to benchmark processes against industry standards and identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts, including authentication flows and role-based access.
Experience with sanction-screening workflows and understanding of required data elements.
Proven capability to produce actionable recommendations and implementation roadmaps.
Educational Background: A completed bachelor’s degree in Business Process Management, Organizational Development, Operations Management, or a related field is required for this position. A higher degree or specialized certifications in relevant areas may be considered an asset.
Experience: Candidates should have demonstrated experience in Master Data Management (MDM) processes, particularly in process mapping, assessment, and optimization. Relevant experience in international organizations or similar environments is highly desirable, especially in contexts involving shared services and Global Business Services models.
Languages: Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's profile.
