Job Overview: The Program Associate will play a vital role in supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of UNFPA’s Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) programme in the Philippines, specifically in Manila. This position requires close collaboration with the UNFPA team and relevant partners to advance objectives related to youth empowerment, sexual and reproductive health, and gender equality. The Associate will report directly to the Maternal Health / Family Planning Analyst and will be instrumental in implementing established systems and procedures, generating substantive knowledge through data compilation and analysis, and facilitating effective communication and coordination within the Country Office (CO). The role is essential for achieving UNFPA's strategic objectives and ensuring that programs are aligned with national and global development goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Programme Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Participating in the formulation of the country programme and component projects by gathering relevant information, drafting project documents, and preparing statistical data.
Assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of SRH programs and initiatives that align with UNFPA's strategic goals.
Collaborating with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to integrate SRH principles into design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation.
Supporting advocacy campaigns and community outreach activities to raise awareness of SRH-related issues.
Collecting and analyzing data related to SRH demographics and needs to inform program decisions.
Preparing reports, presentations, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Organizing and participating in workshops and training sessions to build capacity on SRH among relevant organizations.
Providing operational, administrative, and coordination support to ensure effective collaboration with Implementing Partners (IPs) and facilitating the timely delivery of UNFPA-supported programs.
Raising requisitions in Quantum for payments related to project implementers and managing related activities. 1
Carrying out any other duties as required by UNFPA leadership.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess completed Secondary Level Education as a minimum requirement, with a first-level university degree in international studies or related social science disciplines being desirable. Additionally, candidates should have at least 6 years of relevant experience in program or project management, with a strong background in administration, finance, and project management. Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems is essential, and experience with UNFPA systems and inter-UN coordination is preferred.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes completed Secondary Level Education as a minimum. A first-level university degree in international studies or other related social science disciplines is desirable, indicating a preference for candidates with a solid academic foundation in relevant fields.
Experience: The position requires at least 6 years of relevant experience in program or project management. Candidates should have a proven track record in administration, finance, and project management, demonstrating their ability to manage complex projects effectively. Experience with UNFPA systems and inter-UN coordination is considered an asset, highlighting the importance of familiarity with the UN system in this role.
Languages: Fluency in English and Filipino is mandatory for this position, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and partners. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an advantage, particularly in enhancing outreach and collaboration efforts.
Additional Notes: The initial fixed-term appointment for this position will be for a period of one year, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory service.
