The overarching goal is to improve livelihoods and living conditions through better cooperation and access to external trade opportunities, thereby contributing to a peaceful post-conflict environment.
Job Overview: The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Grants Coordinator (Analyst) plays a crucial role in the successful implementation of projects aimed at enhancing cooperation and trust across the Nistru River. This position requires a high level of expertise in managing granting processes, ensuring that all activities align with UNDP policies and standards. The Coordinator will be responsible for designing and executing capacity-building initiatives for grant applicants, developing comprehensive granting plans, and guiding applicants through the application process. The role also involves evaluating grant proposals, monitoring project implementation, and ensuring effective communication and reporting to stakeholders. The Grants Coordinator must maintain a strong commitment to human rights and gender equality throughout all activities, ensuring that the projects not only meet their objectives but also contribute positively to the communities involved.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Grants Coordinator (Analyst) will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including: 1) Designing activities to ensure timely delivery of project outputs, 2) Conducting capacity-building sessions for potential grant applicants, 3) Developing a comprehensive granting plan and selection methodology, 4) Guiding applicants through the application process, 5) Evaluating and selecting grant recipients, 6) Monitoring the project's grant allocation plan, 7) Preparing periodic progress reports and expenditure status reports, 8) Ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures, 9) Collaborating with administrative personnel for effective financial resource utilization, 10) Developing a monitoring system for information sharing and feedback, 11) Planning and implementing evaluation activities for grants, 12) Drafting and translating correspondence as needed, and 13) Performing any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in development sciences, finance, business administration, public administration, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) combined with two years of relevant experience will be considered. The position requires proficiency in computer applications and office software, particularly MS Word and Excel, as well as experience with web-based management systems. Desired qualifications include experience in coordinating grant applications, familiarity with national accounting standards, and a background in development projects or work with donor organizations.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in a relevant field is required. Candidates with a bachelor's degree must have at least two years of relevant experience. Additional training or certification in financial management or accounting is advantageous.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant practical experience for candidates with a bachelor's degree. Those with a master's degree are not required to have prior work experience. Experience in project management, particularly in grant coordination and monitoring, is highly desirable. Familiarity with development projects and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Languages: Fluency in English and Romanian is mandatory. Knowledge of additional minority languages relevant to Moldova, such as Russian, Romani, Gagauzian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, and sign language, is considered an asset.
