Job Overview:
The Program Assistant position at the World Bank Group in Accra is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the organization's mission of solving development challenges. The role involves providing operational and administrative support across various sectors, ensuring the smooth implementation of the unit's work program. The Program Assistant will be responsible for interpreting operational procedures, coordinating with different units within the World Bank Group, and liaising with external counterparts. The selected candidate will also play a key role in drafting documents, managing project timelines, and assisting in logistical planning for events, thereby contributing significantly to the overall effectiveness of the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Assistant will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to: providing operational and administrative support to assigned sectors, coordinating with other World Bank Group units, assisting in the implementation of the unit's work program, and offering specialized support in areas such as task management and procurement. The role requires the candidate to interpret existing procedures, resolve issues as they arise, and suggest improvements for work organization. Responsibilities also include drafting minutes for meetings, monitoring project budgets, maintaining project files, and mentoring less experienced staff. Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree along with four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in administrative assistance within multinational or international organizations is preferred. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is essential, as is the ability to draft correspondence and edit materials accurately. The ideal candidate should demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills, along with the initiative to anticipate team needs and respond to information requests. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment are also crucial for success in this role.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position. The degree should ideally be in a field related to administration, business, or a similar area that supports the functions of the Program Assistant role. Candidates with additional certifications or training in project management or office administration may have an advantage in the selection process.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of four years of relevant experience in administrative support or a related field. Experience in working within international organizations or in a multicultural environment is highly desirable.
