Job Overview:
The Senior ICT Associate (Messaging and Collaboration) position is crucial for supporting the ICT Specialist in ensuring the reliable and secure operation of UNICEF's messaging and collaboration platforms. The incumbent will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining these systems, monitoring their performance, and addressing any faults to minimize service disruptions. This role is essential for enabling seamless communication and collaboration across the organization, safeguarding system integrity, and optimizing user experience. The position is part of the Identity, Data, and Collaboration Platforms (IDCP) Unit under the ICTD Digital Foundations - Technology Section, which leads the global architecture and engineering for UNICEF’s messaging and collaboration platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Reliable Messaging Environment: Support the deployment and management of messaging platforms, ensuring they operate reliably and securely.
  • Support Collaboration Platforms: Assist in the configuration and maintenance of collaboration tools, ensuring they meet organizational needs.
  • Enable Automation and Low-Code Solutions: Contribute to the development of automated processes and low-code solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Contribute to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Operations: Work with the security team to ensure that messaging and collaboration platforms are secure and compliant with best practices.
  • Promote System Governance and Best Practices: Advocate for best practices in system governance and usage across the organization, ensuring that all users are trained and informed about the tools available to them.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Completion of secondary education (high school diploma) is a minimum requirement, supplemented with university-level courses in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Social Sciences. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field may replace 3 years of related work experience, while a Master’s degree may replace an additional 2 years.
  • Work Experience: At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology, with a strong focus on messaging and collaboration platforms. This includes hands-on experience in managing and supporting M365 Platforms, exposure to cloud security operations, and proven ability to provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support in a global or enterprise environment.
  • Skills: Strong skills in configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, analysis, support, and automation are essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, with additional university-level courses in relevant fields being an asset. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred, and a Master’s degree may be advantageous, particularly for candidates looking to replace years of work experience with educational qualifications.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology, specifically focusing on messaging and collaboration platforms. This experience should include managing M365 platforms, security operations, and providing technical support in a global context.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for this position.
