Job Overview:
The position involves the production of a short video documentary for the I4P (Innovative Financing for the Poor) Project. The documentary aims to highlight the project's objectives, achievements, and impact on the target communities. The contractor will be responsible for all aspects of video production, including conceptualization, scripting, filming, editing, and final delivery of the documentary. The contractor is expected to work closely with the UNDP team to ensure that the documentary aligns with the project's goals and effectively communicates its message to the intended audience. This role requires creativity, technical skills in video production, and an understanding of the project's context and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the UNDP team to understand the objectives and key messages of the I4P Project.
  • Develop a detailed production plan, including timelines, locations, and necessary resources.
  • Write a compelling script that effectively conveys the project's story and impact.
  • Conduct interviews with project beneficiaries, stakeholders, and UNDP representatives to gather insights and testimonials.
  • Film high-quality video footage that captures the essence of the project and its beneficiaries.
  • Edit the footage to create a cohesive and engaging documentary, incorporating graphics, music, and voiceovers as needed.
  • Ensure that the final product meets UNDP's quality standards and is delivered on time.
  • Submit the documentary through the designated UNDP portal and be open to feedback for revisions if necessary.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in video production, including filming and editing.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous documentary work or similar projects.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.
  • Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to convey complex ideas in an engaging manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of development issues, particularly in relation to poverty alleviation and sustainable development, is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in film production, media studies, communications, or a related field is required. Additional certifications or training in video production or documentary filmmaking will be considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in video production, with a focus on documentary filmmaking. Experience working with international organizations or on development projects is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of the production process from concept to final delivery.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in local languages spoken in the project areas is an advantage, as it may facilitate communication with beneficiaries and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is for an individual contractor and is expected to be a short-term assignment. The contractor will work remotely but may need to travel to project sites in Gambia for filming. The contract duration will be specified in the proposal submission. Compensation will be based on the contractor's experience and the scope of work agreed upon in the contract.
