Job Overview:
The internship-programme" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Internship Programme at IOM is designed to attract talented students and recent graduates who have a keen interest in migration-related issues. Interns are expected to be between the ages of 20 and 36 and should have less than two years of relevant work experience. The program aims to provide practical experience in areas relevant to IOM's work, including ICT solutions and services. The intern will support the country office in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of IT networks and systems, contributing to the overall productivity of the organization. This role is crucial for ensuring that all ICT support incidents and requests are addressed promptly and effectively, thereby enhancing the operational capabilities of IOM in Kosovo.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including providing end-user support and ensuring that all ICT support incidents and requests are addressed within the agreed service level agreements (SLA). They will provide first-line support for IOM’s corporate applications and other in-house developed software. The intern will also install and relocate hardware, coordinate equipment servicing, and manage user accounts. Additionally, they will assist in responding to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">information security incidents, maintain the IT Risks Register, and escalate complex issues to relevant specialist teams for resolution. The intern will be involved in updating operating systems and software patches to maintain security, managing the inventory of ICT software licenses and equipment, and advising management on asset replacements and license renewals. They will also assist in implementing IOM ICT Standards and Policies regarding networks, systems, telecoms, and information security, and undertake any other tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree or a high school diploma in computer science or a related field. They should demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and have a keen attention to detail and accuracy. Additionally, candidates should have a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, knowledge of O365 applications, and an intermediate understanding of Windows Administration in a multi-site environment. Familiarity with MS Azure, TCP/IP, Telecoms/Network protocols, Cisco devices, VPN, Active Directory, Backup and Replication, Ticketing systems, Antivirus Software, and ICT utilities is also required.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have completed at least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or a related field. Candidates who are currently enrolled in their final academic year of a first university degree program are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the age and experience requirements outlined in the internship program.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have less than two years of relevant working experience. Interns should be able to demonstrate their ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively are essential, as is a meticulous attention to detail.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, along with proficiency in Albanian and/or Serbian, both oral and written. IOM's official languages also include French and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages may be considered an asset during the selection process.

Additional Notes:
The internship is subject to funding confirmation and will require certification of the candidate's medical fitness for appointment. Interns may receive a small monthly stipend to help offset costs, but those receiving financial remuneration or credits from their university or sponsoring body will not be eligible for this stipend. IOM provides coverage against occupational accidents and illnesses for interns, but does not offer evacuation or medical insurance for non-occupational incidents. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance and must provide proof of coverage before starting work. IOM maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding conduct incompatible with its objectives, including discrimination and harassment.
