Job Overview: The Supply Chain Orchestration and Analytics (SCOA) Specialist plays a pivotal role within the UNFPA Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU), specifically in Pillar 3 – Quality Management. This position is essential for driving the strategic development and management of the Supply Chain Orchestration and Analytics Hub. The SCOA Specialist is responsible for enabling effective, data-driven decision-making within UNFPA’s supply chain operations. This includes the development of analytical models to facilitate dynamic decision-making at various organizational levels, supporting the efficient delivery of reproductive health commodities, and fostering collaboration across the organization to enhance operational performance. The role also involves implementing capacity-strengthening initiatives, conducting research for anticipatory guidance, and contributing to resource mobilization efforts. The SCOA Specialist will work closely with various stakeholders, including SCMU colleagues, regional offices, country offices, and external partners, to ensure the effective delivery of life-saving supplies and to drive continuous improvement in supply chain operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Development of the Orchestration Hub: Provide project management support for supply chain orchestration initiatives, develop analytical models for supply chain activities, support the creation of early warning systems for operational challenges, and carry out data collection and analysis using statistical tools.
Capacity Strengthening: Implement UNFPA's capacity-strengthening initiatives, support training for supply chain professionals, and enhance the technical guidance capabilities of UNFPA personnel.
Thought Leadership, Knowledge Sharing, and Advisory: Conduct research and develop supply chain scenarios for decision-making, support knowledge management, and create a community of practice for supply chain.
Partnerships and Resource Mobilization: Contribute to UNFPA’s value proposition and relationships with donors, and support resource mobilization proposals for quality management.
Collaboration and Representation: Establish effective collaboration with stakeholders, lead relationships with key supply chain partners, and ensure tailored solutions for interventions.
Team Management: Facilitate a conducive working environment aligned with UNFPA's People Strategy.
Perform any other duties as required by the Chief, SCMU.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Supply Chain, Computer Science, Information Technology, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field. A professional certification such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Certified Professional, Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, or AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in data management and analytics, with specific experience in international procurement and logistics data sets, data analytics projects, and developing data visualization tools. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences are essential.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain, Computer Science, Information Technology, Analytics, or Statistics is required. Professional certifications in data analytics and business intelligence are highly desirable and will enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: Candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience in developing and managing data analytics projects, with a focus on supply chain operations. This includes at least two years of experience working with international procurement and logistics data sets, as well as experience in data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Salesforce Tableau, or Qlik Sense. Demonstrated expertise in integrating data from ERP systems for supply chain analytics is also required.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. A working knowledge of another official UN language is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's competitiveness for the role.
