Job Overview:
The Resource Mobilization and Donor Relations Officer will be responsible for the development and management of corporate funding agreements, ensuring compliance with UNEP's requirements and those of funding partners. This role involves conducting research to support the development of new funding concepts, preparing and revising funding agreements, and monitoring their implementation. The officer will also analyze funding patterns and needs, contribute to resource mobilization strategies, and assist in policy development. The position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to manage relationships with funding partners, and the capacity to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The officer will also be involved in data collection and analysis to support decision-making processes within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage corporate funding agreements by conducting research, preparing new agreements, and monitoring their implementation.
  • Analyze and report on the organization's funding patterns and needs, contributing to the preparation of written outputs related to resource mobilization.
  • Manage relationships with funding partners, including organizing consultations and meetings, overseeing invoicing, and ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Perform other related duties as required, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and accountability in all tasks.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of resource mobilization theories and concepts, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues effectively. They should demonstrate professionalism in their work, with a commitment to gender perspectives and equal participation. Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to convey information clearly and effectively. Teamwork and accountability are also critical competencies for this role, as the officer will work collaboratively with colleagues and take ownership of responsibilities.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, finance, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Successful completion of degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics, or data science is desirable.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration, or a related area is required. At least two years of experience at the international level is desirable, along with experience in donor relations and data analytics.

Languages:
English is required for this position, with a minimum proficiency level of UN Level II in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. French or Spanish is desirable, with a minimum proficiency level of UN Level I for Spanish and UN Level II for French.
