UNFPA's Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU) was made operational in January 2022, focusing on the effective delivery of life-saving reproductive health products and program supplies. The unit is self-funded and plays a crucial role in ensuring that these supplies reach the end users efficiently and effectively, while also strengthening the capacity of governments and partners in supply chain management.

Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Orchestration and Analytics (SCOA) Analyst position is integral to the UNFPA Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU), specifically within Pillar 3 – Quality Management. The analyst will report directly to the SCOA Specialist and will also work closely with the Head of Office or equivalent in the regional office. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including SCMU colleagues, IT Solutions Office, HQ Business Units, Regional Offices, Country Offices, and external partners. The primary purpose of this role is to provide foundational support for the supply chain orchestration and data analytics hub, ensuring that data-driven decisions and innovative analytics facilitate the effective delivery of reproductive health commodities. The analyst will also support the development of key supply chain solutions, fostering collaboration across the organization to drive continuous improvement and enhance operational performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Development of the Orchestration Hub: Maintain analytical models for various supply chain activities to facilitate dynamic decision-making at HQ, regional, and country levels. Develop early warning systems to identify and manage emerging operational challenges across the supply chain. Create the supply chain orchestration hub for the country office, ensuring ongoing business intelligence feeds into other SCMU pillars. Measure, monitor, and report on Key Performance Indicators linked to supply chain management.
  • In-country Logistics Support: Proactively monitor goods and services linked to program supplies. Engage actively with customs and port authorities for timely clearance of goods. Maintain shipment trackers and other reporting requirements established by the SCMU logistics team.
  • Thought Leadership, Knowledge Sharing, and Advisory: Support knowledge management and create a community of practice for supply chain.
  • Partnerships and Resource Mobilization: Contribute to the development of UNFPA’s value proposition and relationships with donors and partners in reporting and analytics. Support SCMU’s oversight of resource mobilization proposals for quality management.
  • Collaboration and Representation: Establish effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders within SCMU (HQ, Region, Country) to ensure coordinated and effective tailored solutions for each area of intervention.
  • Team Management: Facilitate a conducive working environment aligned with UNFPA's 2030 People Strategy.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be required by the Chief, SCMU.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree at the Master's level in Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, or a related area. A professional certification such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Certified Professional, Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, or AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty would be an additional asset. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and the capability to develop and maintain broad diversified partnerships. Professional written and spoken presentation skills are essential, including the ability to synthesize complex supply chain documents for both technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated expertise in integrating and leveraging data from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to enable extraction, transformation, and orchestration of supply chain analytics and decision-making solutions is also required.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree at the Master's level in relevant fields such as Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, or a related area is required. Additional professional certifications in data analytics or business intelligence are considered an asset and enhance a candidate's qualifications for this role.

Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years of relevant, progressively responsible experience in developing, enhancing, and managing data is required. Candidates should have at least one (1) year of experience working with international procurement and logistics data sets, as well as one (1) year of experience in data analytics projects or teams. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage complex data sets and contribute to effective supply chain management.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. A working knowledge of another official UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse international environment.
