Job Overview:
The Talent Acquisition Assistant will play a crucial role in sourcing national talent in alignment with the demand forecasts and priorities of UN partner entities. This position involves identifying and engaging local talent sources, supporting outreach efforts, and contributing to the development of a diverse and qualified candidate pool for UN Volunteer assignments. The assistant will work closely with Operations Associates, Volunteer Recruitment, and the Communications team, ensuring effective collaboration across multiple units. The role requires regular interaction with UN personnel at various levels, including senior staff, to foster a cohesive working environment and enhance the overall volunteer experience. The assistant will also be responsible for tracking sourcing activities and providing insights into local labor trends that may affect volunteer recruitment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support local talent acquisition and sourcing by assisting in attracting and engaging qualified national talent based on forecasted demand and strategic priorities. This includes identifying and optimizing talent sourcing channels, recording and tracking sourcing activities through the UNV CRM system, and providing input to volunteer demand forecasting.
  • Support outreach and engagement strategies by building partnerships with local talent sources, contributing to outreach campaigns, and organizing community engagement events to promote UNV opportunities.
  • Contribute to talent pool development by identifying priority profiles for strategic talent pools, maintaining up-to-date information, and ensuring a positive applicant experience by providing timely information to prospective volunteers.
  • Collect feedback from candidates to inform improvements in the recruitment process and volunteer experience.
  • Provide backup support to other functions in the Field Unit during peak periods or absences, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand interrelated elements within a system. They should demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking by identifying opportunities to add value to clients and develop clear service offers. Relationship management skills are essential for engaging with a wide range of partners and building trust. Knowledge of talent sourcing and outreach strategies is crucial, along with the ability to manage campaigns effectively. Marketing skills to communicate the value of volunteering and UNV's offerings are also important.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with experience in volunteer management, recruitment, or talent acquisition will be highly regarded. Knowledge of the UN system and its operations is an advantage.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or related fields. Experience working in an international or multicultural environment is desirable, as is familiarity with volunteerism and community engagement initiatives.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable. Additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the local context.

Additional Notes:
This position is a UN Specialist Volunteer role based in Cairo, Egypt. The volunteer will receive a monthly living allowance of USD 1258, a one-time entry lump-sum of USD 400, and an exit allowance upon successful completion of the assignment. Medical and life insurance coverage is provided, along with access to training resources through the UNV E-Campus. The role is full-time and may involve working across various teams and functions.
