Job Overview: The Team Assistant position at the World Bank Uganda Country Office is designed for a highly organized and experienced individual who can thrive in a fast-paced and culturally diverse environment. The Team Assistant will work closely with the Country Manager and Senior Executive Assistant, supporting various sectors and contributing to the overall work program of the unit. Duties and Responsibilities: The Team Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of operational and administrative tasks, including but not limited to: producing complex texts, reports, presentations, and charts according to World Bank standards; collecting and inputting data into the central database; drafting correspondence and proofreading materials; scheduling and organizing meetings and events; maintaining up-to-date project files; answering queries and managing communication; coordinating with service units and team members; tracking and reporting on operational activities; managing time and schedules; solving non-routine problems; and assisting in logistical planning for various events such as conferences and workshops. The role also involves serving as a backup for other staff and Task Team Assistants, ensuring continuity in project and administrative tasks.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Studies, Office Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in administrative assistance, preferably within multinational or international organizations, is required. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and spoken English skills, with the ability to draft formal and informal correspondence independently. Strong time management and organizational skills, along with the ability to retrieve reference materials from various sources, are essential. The candidate should demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to build positive relationships with senior counterparts in both public and private sectors. A commitment to teamwork and the ability to produce high-quality work under pressure are also critical.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Secretarial Studies, Office Management, Social Sciences, or Business Administration.
