Job Overview: The position involves developing and delivering a comprehensive training program focused on disability inclusion and effective communication strategies for personnel at the General Inspectorate for Migration (GIM) in Moldova. The consultant will be responsible for creating training materials, conducting training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of the training. This role is crucial in enhancing the skills of GIM employees to communicate effectively with migrants, particularly those with disabilities, thereby ensuring their inclusion and support within the migration process. The consultant will also address the specific challenges faced by persons with disabilities, especially those displaced from Ukraine, and work towards fostering a more inclusive environment within the migration management framework.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and submit a detailed training session curriculum, including PowerPoint presentations and supporting materials for a half-day training on Disability Inclusion and communication.
Create a training agenda for two sessions within the half-day training framework.
Design pre- and post-training evaluation questionnaires to assess the effectiveness of the training.
Deliver five half-day training sessions on Disability Inclusion and communication, ensuring to provide participant lists and completed evaluation questionnaires for each session, disaggregated by sex, age, location, and length of service within GIM or police bodies.
Produce a comprehensive report on the training activities conducted, including analysis of the evaluation results and recommendations for future training initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
At least 5 years of practical experience in the field of disability inclusion and the rights of persons with disabilities.
Proven experience in developing training materials and delivering training sessions focused on disability inclusion.
Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in the context of migration and integration.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in social sciences, education, disability studies, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications or training in disability inclusion and communication strategies will be considered an asset.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in disability inclusion, particularly in contexts related to migration and integration. Experience in developing and delivering training programs is essential, as well as familiarity with the specific needs and challenges faced by persons with disabilities in migration scenarios.
Languages: Fluency in Romanian is mandatory, with intermediate proficiency in English being required. Knowledge of additional languages such as French or Spanish is considered an advantage, as IOM operates in multiple languages and values multilingual communication.
Additional Notes: The consultancy may require travel to various municipalities, including Cahul and Balti. The position is subject to funding confirmation and the successful candidate must be medically fit for appointment. IOM provides coverage against occupational accidents and illnesses but does not offer evacuation or medical insurance for non-occupational incidents. Candidates are responsible for their own medical insurance and must provide proof of coverage prior to starting work.
