Job Overview: The Finance Support position is crucial for advancing the financial management objectives of the mission. The role involves providing dedicated support to the coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Finance Coordinator and finance staff, with a primary focus on enhancing financial efficiency, strategic decision-making, and fostering collaborative partnerships. The Finance Support will utilize organizational tools to conduct monthly financial health assessments, implement capacity-building initiatives, and oversee financial processes to ensure compliance with policies. This position is pivotal in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and expertise within the finance teams across all mission bases, ultimately contributing to the organization's financial success and mission fulfillment.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance Support will be responsible for several key duties, including: promoting the effective use of SI financial tools across all levels, overseeing monthly Shared Cost Allocation for the Syria Mission, optimizing tool usage for improved reporting accuracy, conducting monthly financial health checks and analysis, monitoring financial indicators and their impact on grants, supporting forecasting and strategic financial planning, verifying budget planning to mitigate financial and project risks, facilitating continuous learning and development for finance teams, implementing training programs to enhance financial acumen, maintaining effective financial collaboration with partners, organizing financial training sessions, conducting due diligence for new partners, developing financial management SOPs, providing financial input for proposals, consolidating partner budgets, reviewing partner reports, ensuring compliance with internal standards and donor regulations, leading budget development, supporting proposals and reporting during high workloads, defining and implementing financial policies, enforcing internal controls, preparing financial risk assessments, and supporting field offices in implementing financial processes.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of experience in international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and at least 5 years in a similar or related role is required. Technical skills should include financial management, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, and proficiency in accounting software. Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial modeling, are essential. Strong management and writing skills are also necessary for this position.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complexities of financial management within a humanitarian context and for effectively supporting the financial operations of the mission.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), with at least 5 years in a similar or related role. This experience should encompass a comprehensive understanding of financial management practices, budgeting, and reporting, as well as the ability to navigate the unique challenges faced by humanitarian organizations operating in complex environments.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with partners. Proficiency in Arabic is preferred, as it enhances communication with local stakeholders and beneficiaries, facilitating more effective program implementation and partnership management.
Additional Notes: This is a salaried position with a gross monthly salary starting from €2,475, which includes a base salary of €2,250 and a 10% paid leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 750 is provided. Solidarités International covers accommodation and round-trip travel between the home country and the duty station. Employees are entitled to one week of rest every three months, with a break allowance of USD 850, and one rest day for each month worked. The organization offers a comprehensive health insurance package, covering medical, surgical, dental, and ophthalmological care, including repatriation and coverage for war risks. Living conditions include guesthouse accommodation, internet and mobile connectivity, and access to local restaurants and social activities.
