Job Posting Organization: The UNV Regional Office (RO) for Asia and the Pacific was established in 2015 with the mission to provide robust knowledge and technical support to Field Units. The organization aims to develop strategic volunteerism-related programs and mobilize volunteers to address specific trends and development needs in the Asia and Pacific region. The UNV RO operates through three main service lines: Country Programme Development & Advisory, Knowledge Services, and Regional Partnership and Programming. It focuses on enhancing country office capacities, acting as a regional hub for knowledge dissemination, and fostering partnerships with UN and non-UN entities.
Job Overview: The Online Volunteer position is designed to support the global outreach efforts for International Volunteer Day (IVD) 2026, which will be celebrated on December 5, 202
Volunteers will play a crucial role in amplifying the messages of IVD through their personal social media channels, thereby helping to broaden awareness of the event globally. The role involves sharing campaign materials, tracking engagement metrics, and collaborating with other volunteers to ensure effective communication and outreach. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to take on leadership roles as Team Leads, overseeing groups of other Online Volunteers and ensuring consistent engagement and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Online Volunteers will be responsible for sharing IVD 2026 campaign materials, which include flyers, graphics, videos, captions, and key messages, on their personal social media accounts. They are expected to post at least twice a day to promote IVD among their networks. Additionally, they will track and report engagement metrics daily by updating a shared Google Sheet. Volunteers will collaborate asynchronously, following all posting and reporting instructions provided by UNV. Team Leads will have additional responsibilities, including coordinating their assigned group of Online Volunteers, troubleshooting questions, and ensuring accurate tracking and submission of engagement metrics. All volunteers will be required to attend an orientation session during the week of November 24th, where they will receive all necessary campaign materials and guidance.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess strong communication skills, particularly in social media engagement. They should be proactive, organized, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with social media platforms and experience in volunteerism or community engagement are highly desirable.
