The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is a leading UN agency established in 1969, dedicated to ensuring that every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. UNFPA operates in over 150 countries and territories, focusing on sexual and reproductive health rights, gender equality, and women's empowerment. In Pakistan, UNFPA has been active since 1970, implementing programs that address sexual and reproductive health, youth empowerment, and gender equality. The organization works closely with government bodies, civil society, and other humanitarian agencies to advocate for policies and initiatives that promote gender-responsive and youth-friendly services, aiming to improve health and education investments and reduce gender inequality. UNFPA's mission aligns with national priorities and international commitments, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD).

Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer (OV) position at UNFPA Pakistan is designed for individuals who are passionate about gender equality and are willing to contribute to the campaign against Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV). The OVs will engage in a short online orientation session that will provide them with essential knowledge about the campaign's key concepts, definitions, and thematic focus areas. Following the orientation, the volunteers will document their insights and reflections, which will be instrumental in shaping future programming and enhancing the understanding of TFGBV among young volunteers. This role is crucial in supporting UNFPA's advocacy efforts and promoting awareness of gender-based violence issues, particularly in the context of technology's role in facilitating such violence. The OVs will work under the direct supervision of the Gender Focal Point/s at UNFPA Pakistan, ensuring that their contributions align with the organization's objectives and strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteers will be responsible for participating in a 3-hour online orientation session provided by UNFPA Pakistan, focusing on the 16 Days of Activism Against Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV). After the orientation, they will document their unique insights, learnings, and reflections regarding the campaign. These reflections will be shared with UNFPA Pakistan to support the development of future programming and to enhance the understanding of TFGBV among young volunteers. The OVs will also be expected to engage with other volunteers and contribute to discussions related to the campaign, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages the exchange of ideas and experiences.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Online Volunteer position should possess a strong commitment to gender equality and a passion for advocating against gender-based violence. They should have the ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and be open to learning and sharing insights. Familiarity with issues related to sexual and reproductive health, gender equality, and youth empowerment is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting, showcasing strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Educational Background:
While specific educational qualifications are not explicitly stated, candidates are encouraged to have a background in social sciences, gender studies, public health, or related fields. This educational background will provide a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of gender-based violence and the importance of sexual and reproductive health rights.

Experience:
The position is open to individuals with varying levels of experience, including students, recent graduates, and professionals who are interested in contributing to gender equality initiatives. Previous volunteer experience or involvement in advocacy work related to gender issues will be considered an asset, but is not mandatory. The emphasis is on the candidate's commitment to the cause and their willingness to learn and engage with the campaign.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in English. Additionally, proficiency in local languages spoken in Pakistan will be beneficial, as it may enhance the volunteer's ability to connect with diverse communities and understand local contexts better.

Additional Notes:
This is a remote position, meaning that the Online Volunteers will not be required to be physically present at any UNFPA duty station or field office. The duration of the assignment is not specified, but it is expected that the volunteers will actively participate in the orientation and contribute their reflections in a timely manner. This role is part of a broader initiative to promote gender equality and combat gender-based violence, particularly in the context of technology's impact on these issues. Volunteers will have the opportunity to engage with a global network of advocates and contribute to meaningful change.
