The Office of the Special Coordinator on improving United Nations Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSCSEA) is dedicated to enhancing the United Nations' response to issues of sexual exploitation and abuse across its various offices, departments, and agencies. The OSCSEA supports the Secretary General's ongoing efforts and collaborates with various UN offices, departments, funds, and programs, as well as other implementing partners, to strengthen responses in peacekeeping, humanitarian, development, and human rights sectors. Job Overview:

The intern will work closely with experienced professionals and will be expected to engage actively in the office's projects, enhancing their understanding of international relations and humanitarian efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Intern will be responsible for a range of duties, including: conducting research on issues related to the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, which involves media monitoring, data collection, and analysis; supporting the implementation of both internal and external communications strategies; assisting in the production of multimedia content such as photos, videos, and social media graphics; drafting, updating, and maintaining various presentations and communications materials; and undertaking additional responsibilities as required by the office. The intern will be expected to demonstrate initiative and creativity in their work, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the OSCSEA's communication efforts.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific criteria set by the United Nations Internship Programme. They must either be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). While no prior working experience is required, applicants should possess skills and knowledge that will benefit the United Nations during their internship. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in the UN's work and a commitment to its ideals.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes either enrollment in or completion of a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor's degree program.
