The Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) is a global intergovernmental treaty established to promote the conservation and sustainable use of migratory species and their habitats. The CMS Secretariat, which operates from Bonn, Germany, supports various intergovernmental instruments aimed at migratory species conservation. It also provides secretariat services for agreements such as ASCOBANS, AEWA, and EUROBATS, which focus on specific groups of migratory species. The CMS Secretariat plays a crucial role in coordinating international efforts to protect migratory species and their ecosystems, working with multiple stakeholders across different countries.

Job Overview:
The Individual Contractor will be tasked with delivering a fully functional and in-production website specifically for the World Migratory Bird Day campaign. This role involves proposing a content management system, creating a new interface, and developing a migration plan for the existing campaign website. The contractor will execute the migration of the current website, ensuring that all content and core functionalities are accurately transferred and operational upon the launch of the new site. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, preparing user guidance materials, and monitoring website performance to ensure high availability and compliance with security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and accessibility standards. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor include: proposing a content management system and a new interface for the campaign website; executing the migration of the existing website while ensuring all content and functionalities are accurately transferred; developing and maintaining technical documentation detailing the architecture and configurations; preparing user guidance materials tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences; monitoring website performance to maintain uptime; implementing and testing security and accessibility enhancements; conducting user acceptance testing post-revamp; logging and resolving technical issues; delivering all project documentation and materials by specified deadlines; and engaging in regular communication with the Secretariat and project coordinators to ensure alignment with project milestones.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires an advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in information technologies or computer science. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. The contractor must possess a minimum of two years of professional experience in progressively complex website development or a related area. Knowledge and demonstrable experience with PHP, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, XML, and technologies such as Drupal, WordPress, Bootstrap, and Git are essential. Experience in web design and graphic design is also desired, enhancing the contractor's ability to create visually appealing and functional websites.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold an advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in information technologies or computer science. In cases where candidates possess a first-level university degree, they must also have at least two additional years of qualifying experience to meet the educational requirements for this position.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience in website development or a related field. This experience should demonstrate a progression in complexity and responsibility, showcasing the candidate's ability to handle various aspects of website development, including technical and design elements.

Languages:
