Job Overview:
As a Technology Architect within the Cloud and DevOps squads at the EBRD, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Bank’s technology landscape. Your primary responsibility will be to design scalable, secure, and high-performance technology solutions that have a tangible impact on the business. You will work with modern technologies such as Azure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, guiding engineering teams to implement robust designs. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on technical expertise, as you will collaborate with various stakeholders to translate high-level visions into actionable designs. You will also champion innovation and best practices in Cloud and DevOps, ensuring that the Bank remains at the forefront of technological advancements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your duties will include overseeing the architecture of technologies across Infrastructure Squads and ensuring their integration within the broader Platform Engineering framework. You will be responsible for the design, support, and integration of infrastructure platform technologies, ensuring that enterprise infrastructure services operate effectively. This includes managing compute, storage, networking, hypervisors, operating systems, and container platforms. You will enable squads to adopt DevSecOps practices, support the implementation of enterprise backup solutions, and maintain observability platforms for monitoring and forecasting. Additionally, you will design and implement compute and data protection platforms, ensuring they align with the enterprise strategy and are secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-effective.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and supporting on-premises data center architectures. Proficiency in compute infrastructure design, enterprise storage solutions, and cloud-native services is essential. You should also have experience with enterprise backup and data protection platforms, high availability infrastructure architectures, and disaster recovery strategies. A solid understanding of infrastructure management principles, observability, capacity forecasting, and resource optimization practices is required. Familiarity with performance monitoring approaches and experience working with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners will be beneficial.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Advanced certifications in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, or infrastructure management will be advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to professional development in this rapidly evolving field.

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in technology architecture, particularly in the context of cloud and on-premises environments. Experience in leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams is crucial, as is the ability to manage complex technical challenges independently. A proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in a timely manner will be highly regarded.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of the EBRD. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the regions served by the EBRD would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.

This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for 2 years. The EBRD promotes a flexible working environment, with an expectation for employees to work in the office 50% of the time.
