Job Overview:
The Analyst position at EBRD is integral to the project cycle, encompassing project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst will be responsible for various tasks assigned by the operation leader or senior project team members, which include conducting thorough due diligence across financial, market, integrity, and compliance aspects. The role requires the Analyst to work collaboratively within a project team, ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. The Analyst will also engage in portfolio monitoring, value creation, and reporting, contributing to the overall success of investment projects and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Structuring and Execution: The Analyst will work as part of a project team on transactions, contributing to all aspects of project structuring and execution. This includes conducting comprehensive research and analysis of background materials, market information, and the financial and operational performance of target companies. The Analyst will evaluate potential risks associated with proposed projects, prepare financial models, conduct initial valuation assessments, and assist in the preparation of term sheets and legal documentation. The Analyst will also support transaction execution by collaborating with clients, authorities, and internal units.
  • Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting: The Analyst will monitor an assigned portfolio of investments, track progress, and implement value creation plans. Responsibilities include drafting investment monitoring reports, maintaining relationships with portfolio companies, and assisting with the implementation and monitoring of technical cooperation assignments. The Analyst's responsibilities will evolve over time, allowing for the progressive undertaking of more complex tasks based on experience and expertise.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are highly desirable. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with proficiency in Excel and advanced financial modeling capabilities. Familiarity with sector-specific analysis and financial institution market data platforms is also advantageous. The ability to work effectively in a team, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment is crucial. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required, and fluency in Russian is considered a significant advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Analyst position includes a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Candidates with a Master’s degree or relevant professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA will be preferred, as these credentials demonstrate a higher level of expertise and commitment to the field.

Experience:
Relevant experience in the financial industry is essential for this role. Candidates should have experience from private equity, investment banking, or auditing/financial consulting firms. Experience within the financial institution sector is desirable, and familiarity with the Bank’s countries of operations or experience working in emerging and frontier markets will be considered an advantage.

Languages:
