Job Posting Organization:
The Office of the Special Coordinator on Improving the United Nations Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSCSEA) is a part of the United Nations, which aims to strengthen the response to sexual exploitation and abuse across various sectors including peacekeeping, humanitarian efforts, development, and human rights. The organization is committed to enhancing accountability and transparency in these areas, supporting the Secretary-General's initiatives and collaborating with various UN offices, departments, funds, and programs, as well as other implementing partners. The OSCSEA plays a crucial role in addressing and preventing sexual exploitation and abuse, ensuring that the UN's mission aligns with its core values and principles.

Job Overview:
The intern position at OSCSEA is designed for motivated individuals who are data-savvy and eager to contribute to the organization's mission of improving the UN's response to sexual exploitation and abuse. The intern will work under the supervision of a staff member and will be involved in various tasks aimed at enhancing data analysis and visualization capabilities. This role is critical in supporting OSCSEA's reporting, prevention, and response strategies through effective data management and analysis. The intern will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful projects that contribute to the overall mission of the United Nations, while also gaining valuable experience in data analysis and visualization tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: cleaning and organizing raw data related to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA); performing qualitative and quantitative data analysis, including trend analysis; developing and improving dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Verint, and Excel; drafting visual storytelling materials, infographics, and presentations to support decision-making and advocacy; assisting in analyzing gaps in iReport and collating recommendations for enhancing data collection and reporting; engaging in brainstorming sessions to improve internal data workflows; supporting the analysis and dissemination of results from the annual system-wide survey on PSEA; providing general office support services; and undertaking other responsibilities as required.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: they must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or they must be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). No prior working experience is required, but applicants should possess skills and knowledge that would benefit the United Nations during their internship.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a strong educational background, either in a graduate program or in the final year of an undergraduate program. This educational experience should ideally be related to fields that align with the work of the United Nations, such as international relations, data analysis, social sciences, or related disciplines.

Experience:
While no specific working experience is required for this internship, candidates should demonstrate relevant training, education, or skills that would be beneficial to the United Nations. This could include coursework in data analysis, experience with data visualization tools, or involvement in projects related to social justice or humanitarian efforts.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of French is desirable, and proficiency in another UN language is considered an advantage. This linguistic capability is essential for effective communication within the diverse environment of the United Nations.
