Job Overview: The Public intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Information Intern position is situated within the Russian language team of the Social Media Section, part of the Communications Campaigns Service in the Campaigns and Country Operations Division of the Department of Global Communications. This internship is designed to provide practical experience in social media management and public information dissemination. The intern will engage in various tasks that support the UN's social media initiatives, which are crucial for effective communication and outreach. The role involves researching, drafting, and editing content for social media platforms, monitoring engagement metrics, and assisting in the creation of original content. The intern will also participate in meetings, manage agendas, and contribute to special projects, all while adhering to tight deadlines. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about communications and social media, particularly within an international context.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to: researching and compiling information for social media content, drafting and editing posts, monitoring social media statistics, gathering content from events, assisting in the creation of original posts for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, attending meetings as an observer, managing meeting agendas, drafting notes, and supporting special projects as assigned. The intern will also be expected to demonstrate familiarity with digital photography and graphic design tools such as Canva, Trello, PowerPoint, and Adobe Photoshop, which are desirable skills for this role.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level). While professional work experience is not required, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Applicants must provide proof of their academic status and relevant skills in their application. Familiarity with graphic design software and digital photography is also desirable, as these skills will enhance the intern's contributions to the team.
