Job Posting Organization:
The Office of the Special Coordinator on improving United Nations Response to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OSCSEA) is part of the United Nations system, which works across various offices, departments, and agencies to enhance the UN's response to sexual exploitation and abuse. The OSCSEA aims to strengthen the UN's efforts in addressing these issues in peacekeeping, humanitarian, development, and human rights sectors. The organization is committed to aligning approaches and enhancing cooperation across the UN system through the development of standardized protocols and tools. The OSCSEA plays a crucial role in supporting the Secretary General and UN leadership in their ongoing efforts to combat sexual exploitation and abuse.

Job Overview:
The intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Communications Intern will be an integral part of the OSCSEA, contributing to the UN's mission of improving responses to sexual exploitation and abuse. The intern will engage in various tasks that support the office's communication strategies, including conducting research on relevant issues, media monitoring, and data analysis. The role also involves creating multimedia content, assisting in the preparation of presentations, and maintaining communication materials. The internship is expected to last between four to six months, starting on February 1, 2026, and provides an opportunity for the intern to gain valuable experience while contributing to a significant cause.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Communications Intern will be responsible for a range of duties, including: conducting research on issues related to the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse; supporting the implementation of both internal and external communications strategies; producing multimedia content such as photos, videos, and social media graphics; assisting in drafting, updating, and maintaining various presentations and communications materials; and undertaking additional responsibilities as required by the office. This role is designed to provide the intern with hands-on experience in communications within a global organization.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific criteria: they must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or they must be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). No prior working experience is necessary, but applicants should possess skills and knowledge that would benefit the United Nations during their internship.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a relevant educational background, which includes being enrolled in or having completed a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor's degree. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of the UN's work and the specific issues related to sexual exploitation and abuse.

Experience:
