Job Overview:
The Finance Associate position at UN Women involves executing a wide range of financial services and administrative processes within the Cluster Office in Tunisia. The role is crucial for ensuring the timely, efficient, and transparent use of financial resources in accordance with organizational rules and regulations. The Finance Associate will work under the guidance of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director of Financial Management at Headquarters and will be supervised daily by the Operations Manager. This position requires a client-oriented approach and collaboration with the Operations Team and Programme teams at UN Women HQ to address complex finance-related issues. The Finance Associate will implement financial strategies, monitor financial transactions, prepare budgets, and provide financial support to various programs, ensuring compliance with UN Women’s financial regulations and policies. The role also includes administrative support for resource mobilization and facilitating knowledge sharing within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Associate will be responsible for implementing financial strategies in compliance with UN Women’s rules and regulations. Key duties include reviewing and verifying financial transactions, monitoring financial exceptions, drafting financial reports, and providing assistance in the planning of financial resources. The Associate will formulate and administer budgets for the Tunisia & Libya Cluster office, track expenditures, and prepare cost recovery documents. Additionally, the role involves providing finance support to the Programme and Operations teams, monitoring accounts receivables, and ensuring proper financial reporting. The Finance Associate will also compile information for resource mobilization efforts, conduct training events, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the organization. The incumbent will perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, with a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting being an asset. Specialized national or international certification in accounting and finance is also desirable. Successful completion of the UN Women Accounting and Finance Test is required as part of the selection process. Strong knowledge of financial rules and regulations, accounting principles, and IT tools is essential. The ability to administer financial processes and provide input to business operations is crucial for this role.

Educational Background:
The position requires at least secondary education, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. Specialized certifications in accounting and finance are advantageous and may enhance a candidate's application. The successful completion of the UN Women Accounting and Finance Test is mandatory for applicants.

Experience:
Candidates should possess a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in finance. Experience with office software packages, including MS Word and Excel, as well as familiarity with web-based management systems, is required. Experience working within the UN system is desirable, particularly with modern web-based ERP systems like Quantum.

Languages:
Fluency in English, French, and Arabic is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language is considered desirable and may provide an advantage in the selection process.
