Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for the following duties:
Conducting a thorough assessment of the existing youth centers and outbuildings to identify refurbishment needs.
Collaborating with UNDP and relevant stakeholders to gather input and insights for the scope of works.
Developing detailed specifications and requirements for the refurbishment projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and project objectives.
Providing oversight during the implementation phase to ensure compliance with the agreed scope of works.
Preparing progress reports and documentation throughout the assignment, highlighting any challenges and recommendations for improvement.
Engaging with local communities and stakeholders to ensure their needs and perspectives are incorporated into the project design.
Ensuring that all activities are aligned with UNDP's policies and procedures, particularly in relation to procurement and project management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in project management, particularly in construction or refurbishment projects. They should have proven experience in quality assurance and oversight roles, with a track record of successfully delivering similar assignments. Familiarity with UNDP's operational procedures and standards is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Educational Background: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, project management, or a related field is required. Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in project management, specifically in the construction or refurbishment sector.
