Job Overview:
The Emergency Health Specialist will be based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and will work under the direct supervision of the humanitarian coordinator and overall guidance of the deputy country representative. This role involves providing technical advice and support to planners, policymakers, program managers, and service providers regarding national policies and programs in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Maternal Health in humanitarian settings. The specialist will conduct research, analysis, and training to enhance knowledge sharing in these areas. The position requires co-leading the MISP/SRH inter-agency working group within the Health cluster, ensuring that SRH is prioritized in humanitarian responses, and supporting the country office in its role as the lead for SRH response coordination. The specialist will also assist in planning, coordination, and oversight of humanitarian interventions, including assessments, resource mobilization, and advocacy efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Emergency Health Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: conducting rapid assessments of MISP/SRH needs, co-leading the MISP/SRH technical working group, overseeing the procurement and distribution of emergency reproductive health kits and supplies, implementing the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) through partnerships, monitoring the implementation of MISP/SRH activities, coordinating training sessions on SRH in emergencies, developing protocols for various SRH services, and ensuring effective integration of SRH, GBV, and data interventions. The specialist will also support the implementation of mental health and psychosocial care interventions, maintain partnerships with various stakeholders, monitor SRH assistance provided by UNFPA, lead the inter-agency MISP/SRH working group, and facilitate the development of strategic plans and capacity-building initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in public health, medicine, social sciences, psychology, clinical psychology, clinical social work, mental health, pharmacy, or related fields. Training in essential drugs, health system strengthening, MISP/SRH, and GBV mental/psychological care is advantageous. Knowledge of reproductive health issues in humanitarian settings and experience in humanitarian financing and program cycles are preferred. Familiarity with IASC Guidelines on Mental Health & Psychosocial Services in Emergency Settings is an asset. Candidates should demonstrate experience in counseling and clinical supervision, as well as knowledge of integrated MISP/SRH and GBV mental/psychological care principles.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in relevant fields such as public health, medicine, social sciences, psychology, clinical psychology, clinical social work, mental health, or pharmacy is required. Additional training in essential drugs, health system strengthening, MISP/SRH, and GBV mental/psychological care is considered an advantage.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 7 years of professional experience with increasing responsibilities in coordinating health interventions in emergencies or post-conflict settings. A minimum of 3 years of national and/or international experience working on MISP/SRH or GBV mental/psychological care in a humanitarian context is essential. Demonstrated experience in engaging with national governmental actors and providing technical assistance is also required.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken French and English is mandatory. Working knowledge of another UN language is advantageous, and familiarity with Haitian Creole is considered an asset.
