Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
ONU Femmes, established in July 2010 by the United Nations General Assembly, is dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. The organization operates with a unique mandate focused on three complementary axes: supporting states in establishing and implementing international gender equality standards, coordinating the UN system on gender issues, and executing operational activities aimed at accelerating the empowerment of women and girls. ONU Femmes has been present in Côte d'Ivoire since 2011 and became a country office in 2013, aligning its efforts with the national priorities outlined in the National Development Plan (PND 2021-2025). The organization aims to transform the Ivorian economy and promote inclusive development where both women and men are active participants and beneficiaries of growth. The agricultural sector is a key focus, as it serves as a driver of wealth creation and is crucial for enhancing women's economic empowerment, particularly in rural areas where inequalities persist in access to resources, markets, financing, and training opportunities. ONU Femmes collaborates with the African Development Bank (BAD) on various initiatives to strengthen women's economic resilience, improve their access to ICT, entrepreneurial opportunities, and value chains, including projects aimed at empowering women in agriculture through ICT, reforming public procurement processes in West Africa, and supporting women-led cooperatives. Additionally, the Economic Empowerment of Women Unit integrates three other essential axes: Gender-Sensitive Budgeting, recognizing and redistributing unpaid care work, and the Women Count initiative, which focuses on enhancing the production, analysis, and use of gender statistics to inform public policies.

Job Overview:
The national consultant will provide operational, administrative, and technical support to the implementation of activities within the Economic Empowerment of Women Unit (WEE). Reporting to the Head of the WEE Unit, the consultant will contribute to the effective execution of activities related to agricultural value chains, digitization, gender-sensitive budgeting, care economy, and strengthening women's cooperatives. The expected outcomes include efficient and professional implementation of contributions, effective conduct of activities to reinforce ONU Femmes' mandate, support for institutional and organizational partners to facilitate ongoing project implementation, provision of information that aids decision-making for the program team, and reliable analysis and presentation of information that enhances the credibility of the WEE program. The consultant's support is crucial for the overall efficiency of the Country Office, particularly regarding the success of programmatic activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: supporting the planning, monitoring, and programming of WEE project activities; assisting in the preparation of terms of reference, work plans, activity reports, and monitoring tables; participating in the organization and execution of workshops, training sessions, field missions, and technical meetings; contributing to the collection, consolidation, and analysis of data from partners, cooperatives, and beneficiaries; supporting the documentation of results, best practices, and lessons learned; assisting in the implementation of Gender-Sensitive Budgeting actions at national and local levels; participating in advocacy efforts regarding unpaid care work and solutions for its reduction/redistribution; supporting activities related to the Women Count program (gender statistics); maintaining operational contact with cooperatives, women's organizations, sector ministries, and technical partners; assisting in the preparation, organization, and documentation of meetings; contributing to the dissemination of essential information and documents to stakeholders; preparing communication materials (project briefs, valorization notes, photos, field content) in collaboration with the communication team; assisting in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations, technical briefs, and reporting materials; supporting logistical planning for missions and events; ensuring the classification, archiving, and updating of programmatic and administrative documents; and verifying the compliance of supporting documents related to the supported activities.

Required Qualifications:
The consultant must possess excellent organizational skills, strong writing abilities, an attitude conducive to interdisciplinary communication and conflict resolution, a work ethic prioritizing accountability, transparency, consultation, and teamwork, the ability to follow and enforce procedures, and outstanding organizational and planning capabilities. Additionally, the consultant should demonstrate a commitment to gender issues, responsibility, creative problem-solving, effective communication, inclusive collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and leadership by example.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (Bac+3) in development, social sciences, economics, agronomy, project management, public policy, statistics, or a related field is required. A Master's degree (Bac+5) in one of these areas is an asset. Additional training in project management, monitoring and evaluation, or gender equality would be appreciated.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least one year of experience in supporting the implementation of development projects or programs, preferably related to economic empowerment, gender equality, entrepreneurship, or agricultural development. Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required, and familiarity with grassroots organizations, particularly women's organizations, is an advantage. Experience working with government actors is also a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in French is essential, and knowledge of English or another UN language would be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
The position is a consultancy role, and candidates are encouraged to apply online by submitting a personal CV or P11 and a motivation letter (maximum length: 1 page). All documents must be submitted as a single PDF file. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Women candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, and in cases of equal qualifications, preference will be given to female candidates.
