Job Overview:
The Integration Support Officer will play a crucial role in the Helios+ project, which aims to support the integration of third-country nationals into the labor market and Greek society. This position requires close collaboration with national and local authorities, as well as experienced partners, to implement comprehensive actions that promote employability, provide language courses, and facilitate independent living for beneficiaries of international protection. The successful candidate will be responsible for enrolling eligible beneficiaries in the project, monitoring their integration progress, and providing essential information and support services. This role demands a proactive approach to ensure that beneficiaries receive the necessary resources and assistance to thrive in their new environment, while also fostering social cohesion and inclusion within the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Integration Support Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
  • Providing information to eligible beneficiaries and assisting with their enrollment in the Helios+ project.
  • Monitoring the progress of beneficiaries' integration through individual sessions and follow-ups.
  • Conducting presentations to familiarize beneficiaries with the European Way of Life and the resources available to them.
  • Organizing psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support sessions to address the emotional and psychological needs of beneficiaries.
  • Providing information about social welfare rights, housing options, access to healthcare, and education services.
  • Conducting referrals to other actors for cases requiring specialized support.
  • Coordinating with other project units, relevant authorities, and stakeholders to ensure beneficiaries' needs are met.
  • Evaluating requests for exemptions from mandatory Greek language courses.
  • Ensuring accurate data entry and quality physical archiving of Means of Verification. 1
  • Coordinating with Reception Facilities to present the project and enroll eligible beneficiaries. 1
  • Assisting beneficiaries in their search for apartments and navigating administrative requirements. 1
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Project Team Lead or Regional Coordinator.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a combination of knowledge, education, training, and experience to effectively perform the essential functions of the position. This includes strong computer literacy in standard software applications, a commitment to humanitarian principles, and a valid driver's license with at least five years of driving experience being advantageous. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong work ethics and a commitment to the values of inclusion, integrity, professionalism, courage, and empathy as outlined by IOM.

Educational Background:
A university degree in psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited academic institution is required, along with a minimum of three years of relevant work experience. A master's degree in the aforementioned fields will be considered an advantage. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that candidates have received a recognized and quality education that prepares them for the challenges of this role.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least three years of previous work experience in a relevant field. For social workers and psychologists, a professional license is required. Experience working in a multicultural environment is preferred, as it will enhance the candidate's ability to engage effectively with diverse beneficiaries and stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Greek, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly IOM's official languages (French and Spanish), is considered a valuable asset and will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments to ensure candidates meet the language proficiency requirements.

Additional Notes:
This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Greece will be eligible for consideration. Any offer made to the candidate is contingent upon funding confirmation. The appointment will also be subject to certification of medical fitness, verification of residency, visa, and necessary authorizations by the concerned government, where applicable.
