Job Overview: The Program Technology & Innovation Officer for the Resettlement, Asylum, and Integration (RAI) department will play a pivotal role in advancing the IRC's capacity to leverage digital tools for impactful outcomes. Reporting to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Senior Director of Measurement, the officer will collaborate with various teams to develop and implement digital technology initiatives that enhance program delivery and knowledge management. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The officer will be responsible for leading digital initiatives, enhancing digital literacy among staff and clients, and ensuring that digital solutions are integrated into the RAI's operations. This role is crucial for fostering a data-driven approach within the department and influencing broader sector practices through innovative training and technical assistance programs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The major responsibilities of the Program Technology & Innovation Officer include leading the planning, design, and deployment of digital initiatives that support RAI staff and clients. This involves collaborating with subject matter experts and technical teams to ensure effective program delivery and evaluation. The officer will coordinate technical assistance requests from staff, work closely with Technology for Programs service providers, and unify technology efforts across RAI. Additionally, the officer will maintain the IRC's intranet pages, develop systems for knowledge management, and document best practices related to digital initiatives. The officer will also manage communications with IT, vendors, and educational institutions to advance digital goals, catalog existing digital initiatives, and lead communities of practice focused on digital literacy.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a BA/BS or equivalent experience in fields such as digital media, website design, marketing, or international development. A minimum of five years of proven experience in web development or digital initiatives is required, along with proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or Javascript. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a willingness to prototype quickly, coordinate among diverse stakeholders, and have a solid understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles. Excellent communication skills are essential for conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical personnel, and strong organizational skills are necessary for managing multiple tasks effectively. A commitment to social service and adherence to the IRC's code of conduct is also required.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields such as digital media, website/graphic design, marketing, computer science, or international development. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the technical aspects of the role and for effectively contributing to the IRC's digital initiatives.
Experience: The position requires at least five years of relevant experience in web development and/or digital initiatives. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully implementing digital strategies and tools, including experience with AI-driven applications. Familiarity with various programming languages and digital platforms is essential, as is experience in capacity building and digital literacy, particularly with non-native English speakers.
Languages: While English is mandatory, proficiency in additional languages is considered a plus, especially for roles that involve working with diverse populations. Additional Notes: This position can be based at the IRC's headquarters in New York City or can be performed remotely within the United States. The compensation for this role ranges from $85,000 to $95,000, depending on various factors such as the labor market and individual candidate experience.
