Job Overview:
The Data Analyst, Global Finance Operations, plays a crucial role within the Global Finance Operations team, which is dedicated to enhancing the IRC’s global finance function through technical solutions and improvements. This position is responsible for providing technical support in data management and developing solutions that facilitate the IRC’s budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes. The Data Analyst will be tasked with creating Power BI reports and building data automation tools in Excel, utilizing Power Query Editor. Reporting to the Sr Data Analyst, the Data Analyst will collaborate closely with various teams across Finance and the organization to deliver essential data automation tools, including reports, templates, and models that meet budget and reporting requirements. A successful candidate will possess a strong background in data analytics and business intelligence, with hands-on experience in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and Excel.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Data Analyst will be responsible for coordinating data to develop financial queries, templates, and reports aimed at improving budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. Under the mentorship of the Sr Data Analyst and Sr. Director of Global Finance Operations, the analyst will identify and implement solutions that address the reporting and analysis needs of finance team members. The role involves working with business users, solutions architects, and business analysts to gather requirements for reports, crafting and building Excel data automation tools using Power Query Editor, and developing new Power BI reports. The analyst will also perform quality assurance on reports to ensure data accuracy, implement updates to maintain existing reports and tools, and assist business users in utilizing published reports and tools effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or Accounting. They should have experience in data analytics or finance, specifically in creating reports with Power BI and utilizing various data sources such as SQL, Excel, and Power BI Datasets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to handle and manipulate large data sets, possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, and have coding knowledge and experience in querying databases using SQL, DAX, and M Language. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members and business users to develop new reports and tools, along with good analytical and problem-solving skills. The ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines is also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or Accounting is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding financial data and analytics, as well as the technical skills needed to utilize various data management tools and software effectively.

Experience:
Candidates should have relevant work experience in data analytics or finance, particularly in creating reports using Power BI and working with diverse data sources.
