Job Overview: The internship program at the IAEA is designed to provide students and recent graduates with practical work experience in an international organization. Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be expected to provide input for the implementation of communication activities and outreach plans for flagship projects within the Department of Nuclear Energy. They will work closely with the NE Communications Team to organize events, prepare talking points, and write promotional articles for social media platforms. Additionally, interns will develop reports and presentations for both internal and external audiences, contributing to the overall communication strategy of the department.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in communication, journalism, international relations, or a relevant discipline. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF is required. A general understanding of the United Nations system, non-proliferation, nuclear power, energy, or climate change issues is considered an asset. Experience in writing and editing press releases, news features, and video scripts is also advantageous.
Educational Background: Candidates must be at least 20 years old and have completed a minimum of three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree. They may apply up to one year after completing their bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree. It is important to note that candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship program.
Experience: The internship is open to candidates who have completed at least three years of university studies, indicating that a certain level of academic experience is required. While specific professional experience is not mandated, familiarity with communication practices and the ability to engage in writing and editing tasks are beneficial.
Languages: Good written and spoken English is essential for this position. Fluency in any other IAEA official language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, or Russian, is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile and ability to communicate in a multilingual environment.
Additional Notes: The internship duration is typically between three months and one year, providing flexibility for both the intern and the organization.
