The organization is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all, and it plays a crucial role in supporting humanitarian operations through efficient supply chain management. Interns are expected to be between 20 and 36 years old and should possess less than two years of relevant work experience. The program aims to provide interns with hands-on experience in humanitarian supply chain operations, procurement, logistics, and administrative functions. Interns will work closely with various teams, including Finance, Administration, and Programme Units, to ensure compliance with IOM policies and procedures. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical skills in a dynamic, multicultural environment, while contributing to the organization's mission of supporting vulnerable populations through effective supply chain management.
Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be responsible for supporting procurement, logistics, and administrative functions within the Supply Chain Unit. Specific duties include receiving, reviewing, and consolidating requisitions in compliance with IOM’s Purchase Authorization Matrix, preparing procurement documents, soliciting bids, evaluating quotations, tracking requisitions, verifying deliveries, reviewing vendor invoices, and coordinating with the Finance Unit for timely payments. Interns will also assist in planning and executing meetings, workshops, trainings, and events, as well as tracking agreements, managing renewals, and monitoring office supplies and utilities payments. Additionally, interns will contribute to various tasks as assigned by supervisors, enhancing their adaptability and teamwork skills.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent) or have graduated within the last 12 months.
