Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the development of communication materials, including media packages, fact sheets, and social media content.
Support the country office in the production and finalization of communications products.
Produce content for use in the country’s influencing efforts.
Conduct research on key regional issues and compile reports for internal use.
Support the planning and implementation of communication campaigns and events.
Monitor media coverage and social media trends relevant to Kenya.
Assist in the maintenance of the country office's online presence, including the website and social media accounts.
Travel to field locations in Kenya for content gathering (video, photo, and text).
Undergo in-house training in NRC’s branding and house style, digital asset systems, ethics, and other relevant areas.
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in the final year or recently graduated (within the past 18 months) with a Degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, or a related field.
Excellent English writing skills and attention to detail.
Sound photography and filming skills.
Knowledge of digital storytelling techniques.
Knowledge of and interest in regional humanitarian issues.
Experience in using social media for advocacy and outreach.
Educational Background: The ideal candidate should be currently enrolled in their final year of study or have recently graduated within the past 18 months. A degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, or a related field is essential for this position, as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for effective communication and advocacy work.
