Job Overview: The Online Volunteer position at SAVE-Ghana is designed for individuals who are passionate about using technology for social good, particularly in the realm of peacebuilding. Volunteers will collaborate remotely with SAVE-Ghana’s peacebuilding and IT teams to develop a technology platform that utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the early detection and mitigation of inflammatory narratives on social media. This role is crucial in the context of Northern Ghana, where online misinformation has been linked to increased community tensions and violence. Volunteers will engage in co-developing a digital peacebuilding tool that aims to identify, track, and analyze online messages that could escalate local conflicts. Duties and Responsibilities: As an Online Volunteer, you will be responsible for several key tasks that contribute to the successful development of the AI-powered technology platform. Your duties will include:
Collaborating with a team to design and build an AI system that incorporates natural language processing (NLP) and sentiment analysis capabilities to detect harmful narratives.
Developing a user-friendly dashboard interface that provides real-time alerts and visualizes trend data for peace actors.
Ensuring that data privacy and ethical AI principles are integrated into the platform's design and functionality.
Assisting in the training and capacity building of local peace actors to effectively utilize the system.
Participating in regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps in the project.
