Job Overview:
The Youth Engagement Consultant position is designed to enhance the engagement of young people in Egypt with Generation Unlimited (GenU) through a comprehensive participation plan for Shabab Balad Ambassadors and Champions. This role involves active engagement in universities, schools, clubs, social media, forums, and conferences, in collaboration with the Advocacy and Communications section. The consultant will draft content for ambassador participation, speeches, and social media, while also coordinating the launch of GenU Academy and ensuring youth participation with defined roles and responsibilities. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders to build a robust pool of advocates for Shabab Balad and increase youth participation in its flagship program.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will perform key activities under the direction of the Generation Unlimited Egypt Manager, including establishing structured engagement initiatives for Shabab Balad youth, identifying speaking opportunities for ambassadors, generating content from engagement activities, and liaising with UN agencies for broader youth engagement. Responsibilities also include developing an engagement plan for youth participation in GenU Academy, managing the logistics of events, and ensuring effective communication with champions and ambassadors. The consultant will be responsible for maintaining a calendar of engagement, organizing events, and preparing reports on youth engagement and participation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Economics, or a relevant field, with an advanced degree being an asset. A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in events management, grassroots activation, PR, or media functions is required. Experience in data management and developing innovative solutions is essential, along with previous experience in a PR or media agency. Strong communication skills and experience in celebrity engagement are also necessary.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Marketing, Communication, or Economics is required. An advanced university degree is considered an asset, indicating a preference for candidates with higher education qualifications.

Experience:
The position requires at least 6 years of professional experience in relevant fields, including events management, grassroots activation, public relations, or media functions. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing events and engaging with youth effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, as effective communication in both languages is crucial for engaging with diverse youth audiences and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The position is a consultancy role, and consultants are expected to work independently, using their own office space and equipment. Travel costs must be included in the financial offer, as these are the only costs covered by UNICEF. The role involves significant coordination with various stakeholders, and the consultant will be required to develop youth engagement metrics and plans.
