Job Overview: The Security Guard position is crucial for maintaining the safety and security of the UN House and its occupants. The role involves ensuring the physical integrity of the premises, monitoring security systems, and enforcing access control procedures. The Security Guard will be responsible for observing and reporting on the security situation around the UN House, managing visitor interactions, and responding to emergencies. This position requires a proactive approach to security, with an emphasis on maintaining a safe environment for UN personnel and visitors. The Security Guard will work under the guidance of the UNDP National Security Officer and will be expected to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and responsibility in all duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the physical integrity and safety of the UN House, including monitoring the overall security situation and conducting regular patrols of the premises.
Enforce access control procedures for personnel and vehicles, ensuring that only authorized individuals enter the premises.
Manage visitor interactions, including verifying identities and handling incoming mail and packages with safety measures.
Respond to emergencies promptly, following established protocols for fire and security alarms, and coordinating with relevant authorities.
Maintain detailed records of daily observations, incidents, and security-related communications.
Take preventive measures to protect UN personnel and property, remaining visible as a deterrent against potential threats.
Collaborate with colleagues and law enforcement to ensure a cohesive security approach and report any security weaknesses or violations.
Uphold work discipline and teamwork, contributing to a positive work environment and achieving organizational goals.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a secondary education and have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in security, safety, police, or military service. Basic computer skills are essential, along with a high sense of responsibility and the ability to manage stressful situations. A friendly and positive attitude towards people is also required. Experience with international organizations is desirable, as it demonstrates an understanding of the unique security challenges faced in such environments.
Educational Background: The minimum educational requirement for this position is secondary education. Candidates with additional certifications or training in security-related fields will be viewed favorably, as they demonstrate a commitment to professional development in the security sector.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least three years of relevant work experience in security and safety roles. This experience may include positions in law enforcement, military service, or security management within international organizations. Languages: Fluency in Russian is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the UN House.
